F.A.Q.
WHAT IS CBG?
-
Cannabigerol (CBG) is a cannabinoid, meaning it’s one of the many chemicals found in cannabis plants. The most well-known cannabinoids are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but there’s recently been more interest in the potential benefits of CBG.
-
-
CBG is considered to be the precursor to other cannabinoids. This is because CBG-A, the acidic form of CBG, breaks down to form CBG, CBD, THC, and CBC (cannabichromene, another cannabinoid) when heated.
WHAT DOES CBG DO?
-
While the research on CBG is limited, studies do exist suggest that it offers several benefits.
-
CBG may be able to improve the following health conditions:
-
Inflammatory bowel disease
-
Glaucoma
-
Bladder dysfunctions
-
Huntington’s disease. CBG might have neuroprotective properties
-
Bacterial infections
-
Cancer
-
Appetite loss
-
While these studies are promising, it’s important to remember that they don’t confirm the benefits of CBG. Much more research is needed to fully understand how CBG works in the body.
CBD + CBG
-
Preclinical studies suggest that CBG may share many beneficial characteristics with CBD.
-
Both CBG and CBD are non-intoxicating cannabinoids that potentially boast antioxidative, neuroprotective, and analgesic properties.
-
-
When paired together, CBD and CBG may offer powerful anti-inflammatory benefits to treat neuroinflammation.
-
CBG's analgesic properties may surpass those of THC without the intoxicating hit. There's also evidence to suggest CBG may offer anticancer, antidepressant, and antibacterial qualities.
WHAT IS CBG ISOLATE?
-
CBG isolate is a type of hemp extract that has been purified so that almost all other substances aside from CBG have been eliminated.
-
-
Tasty Therapy uses CBG isolate supplied by Mile High Labs in Colorado. The Certificate of Analysis can be seen below.
-
The isolate routinely tests at ~99% purity, which makes our products some of the purest and options on the market.
-
-
This powdered extract contains non-detectable levels of THC, which means that if our CBG isolate contains any THC at all, there isn’t enough of this intoxicating cannabinoid present to register with even the most advanced testing equipment.
CBG & THC
-
CBG and THC are two primary cannabinoids that occur naturally in hemp.
-
-
The difference between the two is the arrangement of a single atom. Both bind to the CB2 receptor, but interact with the CB1 receptors in different ways.
WILL CBG "GET YOU HIGH"?
-
No. CBG does not contain the psychoactive and mentally intoxicating effects that are typically associated with marijuana and THC.
WHAT IS DELTA-8?
-
Delta-8 is Hemp’s newest, highly sought after derivative made from CBD rich cultivars. But unlike CBD, Delta 8 will make you feel high.
-
When consumed or inhaled, Delta-8 can cause euphoria, relaxation, pain relief along with giddiness, and an increase in creativity. In other words, Delta 8 causes most or all of the effects commonly associated with the regular form of THC.
-
The chemical differences between the two forms of THC are very small, and they both interact with receptors in our brain within our endocannabinoid system.
HOW TOUSE DELTA-8
-
Even though their effects are very different, Delta-8 products are used in the same way as CBD. Most commonly, you’ll find tinctures, edibles (such as gummies), and vape cartridges.
-
In the case of Tasty Therapy we offer Delta 8 in sweet and savory recipes to satisfy your cravings.
-
When it comes to dosing, we highly recommend that you “start low and go slow.” Begin with a very low dose, especially if you are inexperienced as Delta-8’s effects are much different from CBD’s effects.
IS DELTA-8 LEGAL?
-
Delta 8 THC is federally legal and legal in most states in the USA thanks to H.R. 2: The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the 2018 Farm Bill.
-
The 2018 Farm Bill specifically made all derivatives, isomers, and cannabinoids from hemp legal, provided the final product has less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. For reference, Delta 8 THC is an isomer of CBD, a derivative of hemp and CBD, a cannabinoid found in hemp, and is ultimately contained in our extracts with less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC.
-
To note, the Federal Analogue Act, which is part of the Controlled Substances Act, has Delta 8 THC is listed. This is where the 2018 Farm Bill is especially helpful, as it also includes an amendment to the Controlled Substances Act, explicitly removing all tetrahydrocannabinols derived from industrial hemp.
